Collectible Bakelite Buttons, Page 3

This is one of a few buttons I made in this vintage bakelite jewelry design featuring a google eyed dog with a bone in its mouth. The button is carved from bakelite and is dyed a reddish brown color just like the old bakelite pins were. The dog has a green collar painted with enamel paints and white enamel teeth. The bone is over-dyed as well. The button measures 1 1/2 inches at the longest measurement and would be considered a mechanical by NBS standards because of the google eye. My signature and the date are inscribed on the back side where I carved a self shank.

Carved from black Bakelite, this whimsical skillet button has a Bakelite egg and three Bakelite sausages frying in epoxy resin grease.
The skillet's handle is aluminum and wood. This button measures 1 & 1/4 inches and has a self shank carved onto the back where my
signature and the date are inscribed.

Bakelite Painter's Palette Button

This Painter's Palette Button is carved from white Bakelite and has 8 different colors of Bakelite inlaid into it for the "blobs" of paint.
The button measures just under 1 1/4 inches, has a self shank carved onto the back and my signature and the date inscribed.

Carved Bakelite Wine Bottle & Glass Button

The base of this button is carved from a very lovely color of vintage Bakelite, an orangey pink with lots of translucency. I inlaid a blue
moon Bakelite wine bottle and a clear apple juice Bakelite wine glass into the button. I carved a self shank onto the back and
inscribed my signature and the date. The button measures 1 1/4 inches.

Carved Honey Amber Bakelite Bee Button

This is a great little honey bee that I've carved from a gorgeous honey amber colored vintage bakelite/catalin. The bee has eyes which are inlaid black bakelite and enamel painted black stripes on its abdomen. The button measures a bit under 1 1/4 inches at the longest measurement and has a self shank carved onto the bottom/back, where my signature and the date are inscribed.

Carved Bakelite Black Cat on Jack O'Lantern Button

A perfect Halloween-y button is this handsome and sleepy black bakelite cat perched upon an orange bakelie jack-o-lantern. The cat has pink enamel nose and one partially opened green enamel eye. The button measures a hair under 1 3/8 inches and has a self shank carved on the back where I've also inscribed my signature and the date.
