Carved Vegetable Ivory Owl on Moon Button
This is a button which I designed and carved two different versions of,
the first carved from bone. This, the second of the two, is carved
from a nice light tan vegetable ivory. The owl has eyes made of
inlaid bakelite and its beak and feet/talons are carved from orange
helmet shell. The button measures a hair under 1 1/4 inches making
it an NBS medium, and it has a self shank carved onto the back where
I've also inscribed my signature and the date.

Carved Vegetable Ivory Mechanical Dice Button
This great little button is one that I carved from vegetable ivory with
a clear bakelite/catalin top and inside are four loose ivory dice (which
I also carved). The clear bakelite/catalin top is carved to be
convex (concave inside of course) to allow the dice to rattle around
smoothly. Due to the concave nature of the inside of the clear
piece, the dice appear a bit skewed when they are close to the edges of
the button. They "rattle around" nicely and make for lots of
fun... The button measures a bit less than 1 1/4 inches in
diameter, ha a self shank carved onto the back and my signature and the
date inscribed there as well.

Carved & Painted Ivory Mermaid in Seashell Button
This is a wonderful little button, the second that I've made, with a
tiny little mermaid that I carved from pre-ban African Elephant ivory
curled up in a real 1/2 seashell. The mermaid is very carefully
carved in realistic detail with enamel paint for color. The shank
is a gold colored metal eyelet inserted through the back of the shell
and into the ivory mermaid, which is further secured to the shell with
epoxy resin. The entire button measures a hair under 1 1/4 inches
and I inscribed my signature and the date on the shell.

Carved Ivory 2 Piggies Button
This button is one that I've carved from pre-ban African Elephant ivory
and depicts two cute little piggies huddled together. Both pigs
have bakelite eyes and enamel paint details. The button measures a
bit under 1 1/4 inches and has a self shank carved onto the back where
I've also inscribed my signature and the date.

Carved Antler Lizard Button
This button is a nice little lizard which I've carefully carved from
White Tail Deer Antler. The base of the button is carved and
smoothed to appear as a rounded rock which the lizard is resting on.
The lizard's eyes are inlaid black bakelite. The button measures a
bit under 1 1/4 inches and has a self shank carved onto the bottom where
I've also inscribed my signature and the date.

Carved & Painted Antler Blue Heron Button
This is a dandy realistic button that I've carved from White Tail Deer
antler. The subject is a pretty Great Blue Heron wading between a
log and Marsh grasses. The heron has a little fish grasped in its
beak. The entire button is painted carefully with enamel paints,
has a self shank carved onto the back and my signature and the date
inscribed there as well.

Fossil Walrus Ivory Seahorse Button
This a great little seahorse button that I've carved from a lovely
fossil walrus ivory. The finely detailed little seahorse also has
a black bakelite eye, it measures a hair under 1 1/4 inches and has a
self shank carved onto the back where I've inscribed my signature and
the date.

Carved Ivory & Antler Bulldog Head Button
Carved from pre-ban African Elephant ivory, this bulldog head also has a
bone in its mouth which I've carved from deer antler. The eyes and
nose are inlaid bakelite and I used a bit of red enamel paint to color
the inside of its mouth. The button measures a hair under 1 1/4
inches, has a self shank carved onto the back and my signature and the
date inscribed.

Carved Ivory & Bakelite Panda Bear Head
Here is a cute little Panda Bear head button which I've carved from
Pre-ban African Elephant Ivory, with black bakelite ears, nose and mask.
The sparkling eyes are black glass Swarovski rhinestones. The
button measures a bit under 1 1/4 inches, has a self shank carved
onto the back and my signature and the date inscribed there as well.

Carved Ivory Zebra Head Button
This button is a very nice Zebra's head which I've carved from pre-ban
African Elephant Ivory. The zebra's stripes are applied with black
enamel paint in areas inscribed for paint retention. The eyes are
inlaid black bakelite. The button measures right at 1 1/4 inches,
it has a self shank carved onto the back and my signature and the date
inscribed there also.

Here is a very nice realistic Pig's head button that I've carved from a
wonderful tan colored Vegetable Ivory. The carving has just a
touch of whimsey with the Pig's slight grin. The eye is inlaid
black bakelite. The button measures a hair under 1 1/4 inches, has
a self shank carved onto the back and my signature and the date
inscribed.

Carved Walrus Tooth & Bakelite Lizard & Beetles Button
This is a handsome little button that I've carved from a walrus tooth
(ivory). The button features a nice detailed little lizard
surrounded by brown and black bakelite beetles. The lizard's eyes
are also bakelite and I added just a bit of brown dye to the lizard
prior to polishing the button. The button measures right at 1 3/4
inches in length, has a self shank carved onto the back and my signature
and the date inscribed there as well.
